Receipt Review: May 2026

May's receipts tell the story of someone who packed for a Philadelphia reunion and a Tampa wedding at the same time and somehow forgot she was also going to Florida.

I panic-ordered everything below but the lawnmower after realizing my suitcase was severely lacking in swimwear, sandals, and anything remotely appropriate for spending several days in the Florida heat.

Fortunately, a few last-minute purchases turned out to be some of my favorites of the year. Ahead, everything I bought in May.

Hunza G Swimsuits

I'd wanted a Hunza G swimsuit for years but could never quite justify the price. When Shopbop ran a sale, I finally caved and bought two.

I immediately understood the hype. The brand's signature crinkle fabric is incredibly comfortable, surprisingly flattering, and somehow manages to fit like it was custom made. Since purchasing mine, I've successfully convinced two friends to buy the exact same suit—the Angel style—which might be the strongest endorsement I can give.

Farm Rio Scarf Mini Bag

Some bags are practical. This is not one of them.

What it lacks in storage space, however, it makes up for in charm. I purchased this Farm Rio mini bag on sale through Shopbop and carried it throughout my Florida trip. Between the colorful print and scarf detail, it added personality to every outfit and felt perfectly suited to a tropical wedding weekend.

Amazon Sarong

This was one of those last-minute Amazon purchases that could have gone either way.

Thankfully, it was a winner. The pattern gives major Missoni energy without the Missoni price tag, and it worked perfectly as a beach cover-up throughout my trip. Lightweight, easy to pack, and surprisingly chic, it's one of my favorite affordable purchases of the month.

Havaianas Slim Square Flip-Flops

I have worn Havaianas for years and consider them the gold standard of flip-flops.

Unfortunately, this particular style was a miss.

The square-toe silhouette looked great online and felt like a more elevated take on the classic sandal, but they rubbed my feet in all the wrong places and never became comfortable. I still love the brand, but next time I'll be sticking with the styles I know and love.

Reformation Silk Set (via The RealReal)

One of my favorite things to shop for on The RealReal is Reformation. The pieces are often barely worn, and the discounts can be substantial.

I purchased this silk set for my college reunion and loved how polished it felt while remaining comfortable enough to wear for an entire evening. It struck that elusive balance between looking dressed up and looking effortless.

AirFly Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter

I first learned about the AirFly from a woman sitting next to me on a flight home from Memphis earlier this year. After watching her seamlessly connect her AirPods to the airplane entertainment system, I immediately added one to my shopping cart.

It's one of those products that solves a surprisingly annoying problem. No more tangled airline headphones. No more sacrificing audio quality. Just connect your own earbuds and enjoy the flight. Genius.

American Lawn Mower Company Push Reel Lawn Mower

While everyone else was shopping for swimsuits and resort wear, I was apparently also shopping for a lawn mower.

I've always been slightly intimidated by traditional lawn mowers—largely because a college friend once lost a toe in a lawn mower accident—so the simplicity of a push reel mower appealed to me. It's quiet, straightforward, and somehow makes mowing the lawn feel a little less like operating heavy machinery and a little more like tending a garden.
