Receipt Review: February 2026
Though February is the shortest month, I certainly did some damage.
This month's purchases ranged from practical to aspirational, with a few landing squarely in the overlap between the two. There was a red-light therapy mask I'd been eyeing for months, a weighted vest in the name of longevity, a habit tracker for the version of myself who believes organization is the answer to most of life's problems, and a handful of beauty and wellness products that quickly became part of my daily routine.
As always, not everything was purchased with complete rationality. But every item below earned a spot in February's Receipt Review for one reason or another.
Omnilux
Men Red Light Mask

Omnilux Men + Omnilux Contour Neck & Décolleté
Let's start with the pink tax. While researching red-light therapy masks, I discovered that Omnilux's Men's mask is the same price as the women's version but offers a higher concentration of near-infrared light. Naturally, I bought the men's version. I also added the Neck & Décolleté attachment because if I was going to commit to red-light therapy, I wanted to commit fully. The setup makes me look vaguely like a futuristic supervillain, but I've been surprisingly consistent with it and genuinely enjoy the ritual.
Strangers by Belle Burden
This was the first audiobook I've listened to since Harry Potter in middle school art class, which may be the strongest endorsement I can give it. I downloaded Strangers on a whim and ended up finishing the entire thing in a single weekend. The story was compelling enough to keep me walking, driving, and finding excuses to keep listening long after I should have moved on to something else.
Kérastase Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops
Some purchases earn their spot in a Receipt Review because they surprise me. This was one of them. I've tried plenty of hair oils over the years, but Kérastase's newest launch immediately stood out. The formula leaves my hair noticeably shinier, smoother, and healthier-looking without weighing it down. It's rare that a beauty product becomes an instant favorite, but this one managed to do exactly that.
Weighted Vest
If you see me walking Dakota around Seattle looking slightly more intense than usual, there's a good chance I'm wearing a weighted vest. I bought it after reading about the benefits of weighted walking for strength, endurance, and long-term health, and it's become a regular part of our walks. It's not particularly glamorous, but neither are many of the habits that end up paying off the most.
Flamingo Estate: Guide to Becoming Alive
Part coffee-table book, part lifestyle manifesto, part escape. Flamingo Estate has mastered the art of making everyday life feel more beautiful, and this book captures that ethos perfectly. I find myself picking it up whenever I need a dose of inspiration or simply want to be transported somewhere a little slower, greener, and more romantic than real life.

Rorra Countertop Water Filtration System
I spent an embarrassing amount of time researching water filters before landing on the Rorra system. Part appliance, part design object, it manages to look beautiful while taking up permanent residence on my countertop. More importantly, it has made drinking filtered water incredibly convenient, which means I'm actually doing it. Sometimes the best purchases aren't the most exciting ones—they're the ones that quietly improve your daily routine.
The Case Study Calendar + Habit Tracker
Every year, I convince myself that the right planner, notebook, or tracking system will finally transform me into the kind of person who never forgets anything and always follows through on every goal. The Case Study calendar and habit tracker appealed directly to that fantasy. Fortunately, it's also beautifully designed and genuinely useful, making it one of the rare organizational purchases that feels both aspirational and practical.
